Advanced login vSphere Data Protection restore client fails

Dear All,

I have a problem with the vSphere Data Protection Restore Client. Namely with the advanced option. If I use the basic login option I can get to my backed up VM and I can also restore a single file if I want to. If I want to use the advanced option (as I don't want to install flash player on every server, thank you vmware!!). Every time I try to logon with my domain account and the vDP root account I get the message ' Login failed vCenter username or password incorrect.

I have tried both with my domain account (which by the way is a valid account, I can logon to vDP with the vmware client). I know the root account is good and the password also as I can connect to vDP through the vcenter5 server menu. I am also able to enter vDP configuration with the root account. I have stopped and started the vDP services with the root account.

 

I am at a loss. Anyone have an idea?
