Greetings,
I am currently testing vSphere 4U1 with VMDR. I am using the latest VMDR release. I have a small environment...11 Windows VM's.
So far, VMDR seems to have some good potential, but I am seeing some disturbing issues. It appears that the Linux backup appliance...after running a scheduled backup job...will not release memory...and also will continue to use an inordinate amount of Host CPU. Restarting the backup appliance appears to solve the issue...but I am currently having to "bounce" this appliance twice a day. Not my idea of a production solution.
Are others seeing this? What, if anything, is being done by VMware support to remedy this issue. I have several customers currently using the free ESXi...which works great...but before I present a case to upgrade to the Essentials Plus package for over $3,000, I will have to get some answers to this issue...machine backup is, after all, the primary reason for me to even consider upgrading to Essentials Plus.
Thanks
