Authorization issue to restart VMTools services

Hi,

I have a vCenter Server virtual appliance and a VDP virtual appliance. I was having a Time Sync issue with the Appliance, hence I went through many forums (mentioned below) to get this issue resolved.

Time Sync Issue with Data Protection Appliance

VMware vSphere Data Protection (VDP) Error and Time Synchronization | VMware vSphere Blog - VMware Blogs

The solution suggested by most of the experts was to restart my VMTools services using the below commands but I was getting a "request for change authorization" error.

service vmware-tools-services restart

service vmware-tools restart

I also tried the remaining trouble-shooting steps suggested in the blog:

1. Restart the service vmware-tools-services.

Error received - cannot perform this task with “request for change authorization” on that system

2.Restart the vmware-tools.

Error received - cannot perform this task with “request for change authorization” on that system

3. Verify the time and the time zone of the VCenter and the ESX servers

Answer - The vCenter and the ESX host point to different NTP servers but the times are synced.

4. Are you using NTP server to sync time? If yes, are you using the same NTP in server and client hosts ?

Answer - Yes, we use two internal NTP servers. The ESX host and the client guest operation systems point to different NTP servers.

5. Do you have SSO (Single-Sign-On).

Answer -  We do not use SSO

So, please suggest as to how can I get this issue resolved. Your immediate reply will be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.
