Hello all,
I hope I'm positing this in the right place. Recently we had a client that upgraded his backup NetWorker environment from 7.6 to 8.1 and consisted of virtual and physical backups. They are using custom based scripts that will call from NetWorker that gave various reports (what backed up, what failed etc....) and this also included VM backups, but now since the upgrade to NetWorker 8.1 it appears you can longer do this and the reports for the virtuals no longer work, but the physical clients are okay and from what I can see, it appears now NetWorker 8.1 places virtual backups into their own "polices" and are regulated through vSphere now:
However, we do have a report that shows us what backed and failed (found the tab Reports in vSphere), but it doesn't tell you exactly what VM clients has failed in the generated report and we need to know if there a way to pull and generate such information? We don't have DPA so it makes it a bit more of a challenge. Hope this makes sense, because based on the screenshot above, if the VM clients where in the NetWorker group section, then it will work, but now that the VM's are no longer there and everything goes through vShpere, its making it difficult to keep track of failed clients unless you go into vSphere and see what failed, but once again we would like to have a daily e-mail report sent out telling us what clients failed.
Thanks!
Ray
