I know I'm not the first and for sure not the last one to complain about vDP. But this crap is driving me creazy.
I just want a simple backup routine and for that I used VDR for some time and it was enough, but know that doesn't work anymore with vSphere 5.1.
I tryed to switch to vDP, but it's almost impossible to get this thing to run!
First of all, it will not work on an NFS Datastore. The Appliance just won't boot and complains about I/O errors. Now on an iSCSI-Storage it boots, but I can't get the network settings done.
I always get the error: "IP/DNS could not be resolved. Please re-check the hostname, domain and DNS values for forward and reverse lookup validation"
I know that the DNS works right and every other machine (Windows, Linux and OS X) don't have any complains about the DNS resolve.
Tha Appliance can resolve external Servers like google:

but nothing in the domain:

A little test from an other machine:

Does anyone have an idea how to fix that?
