Using Arcserve R16 to backup VMs. Need help. Thanks.

Dear Friends,

I 've nearly finished migrating my physical servers to an esxi5 environment consist of 3 x exsi hosts, 2 x10 gb switches and 1 EQL IP SAN.

I've also purchased a Dell R620 backup server with Windows 2008 installed plus all the R16.1 licenses purchased.

The HDD is a pair of 146GB 15K SAS running on raid one.

The R620 backup server has a 10GB iSCSI connection to the SAN as well.

I am wondering does the Arcserve backup server retrieve the backup direct from the iSCSI connection or through the normal LAN?

Does the backup server needs to have plenty of storage space in order to backup the VM images?

Finally, does anyone have any documentations to share with regards to backing up VMs using Arcserve R16?
