I'm looking for a guide / template to the process of backing up and recovering a vSphere environment. I'm looking for an overview dicussing what needs to be backed up, what the dependencies are, in what order different components should be addressed, and the procedures involved.
For example, I have a 5.1 enviornment with vCenter Server and its SQL database, and SSO and its SQL database. All management servers are virtual machines. In addition to the databases being backed up, the virtual machines themselves are being backed up at the hypervisor layer.
I need a guide discussing the order in which databases and virtual machines should be restored. It should discuss things like getting application consistent backups of vCenter Server and SSO server's datbases if applicable. It should discuss anything else I haven't thought of but need to think of when creating a plan for disaster recovery.
Ideally it's a template someone has created that I can customize to a specific environment.
